Requesting approval of the seven-day extension to conduct the post-qualification of bidders for the competitive bidding of security services.

[A]pproval of the GPPB is no longer required under R.A. 9184 and its IRR-A. Under Section 34.1 of the IRR-A, as amended, the post qualification period may be extended, in exceptional cases, by the head of the procuring entity. However, the aggregate period of extension may not exceed thirty (30) calendar days.

Hence, the head of the procuring entity may extend the post-qualification process anytime provided that it shall not exceed an aggregate period of thirty (30) calendar days and such extension be premised on the existence of exceptional cases.
