Under the New Government Procurement Act (NGPA) or Republic Act No. 12009, the new 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 mode of procurement transforms how Procuring Entities can acquire necessary goods and services. This method allows for direct procurement from any known and reputable source for non-Common-Used Supplies and Equipment (CSEs) and CSEs not available in the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management, as well as services with an Approved Budget for the Contract (ABC) not exceeding ₱200,000. Under Section 32 of the NGPA, this threshold can be adjusted by the Government Procurement Policy Board to reflect economic changes and other justifiable reasons.
By simplifying the procurement process, Direct Acquisition ensures efficiency and flexibility, aligning perfectly with the fit-for-purpose approach to meet specific needs swiftly and effectively.
