Government Procurement Policy Board – Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO) Officer-in-Charge Sofia C. Yanto-Abad served as one of the panelists during the discussion on “Philippine Procurement: Climate, Challenges, and Advancement” hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on May 13, 2026, at the ADB Headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
OIC Yanto-Abad joined fellow panelists Deputy Executive Secretary Dennis Santiago of the Support Services – Office of the President, Procurement Service–Department of Budget and Management Executive Director Genmaries “Gen” Entredicho-Caong, and ADB Director Kevin Moore.
During the discussion, OIC Yanto-Abad shared insights on the ongoing procurement reforms under the New Government Procurement Act (NGPA) or Republic Act No. 12009, highlighting the shift toward a more strategic, transparent, efficient, and fit-for-purpose procurement system.
The session provided an opportunity to discuss the current procurement landscape, key implementation challenges, and continuing advancements in public procurement as the government works toward a more responsive and accountable procurement framework.
