Culmination of Phase 2 of PROTECT MDGs
 
 

The Capacity Building Intervention workshop for the PROTECT MDGs Project (Project) held at Roxas City last 13-15 April 2010 marked the culmination of the Phase 2 of the Project. A total of thirty five participants from the cities of Masbate, Roxas, and Kabankalan attended the workshop.

 

The participants showed eagerness to learn more about Republic Act No. 9184 and its revised IRR as well as the process and requirements for advertising and posting in the PhilGEPS website.

 

Among the expected outputs for this phase of the Project include the final   Annual Procurement Plans submitted by the participating cities and a booklet on Frequently Asked Questions developed by the League of Cities of the Philippines and the Government Procurement Policy Board – Technical Support Office.

 

The next phase of the Project (Phase 3: Monitoring) will focus on monitoring the progress of the ten cities with respect to its compliance with RA 9184 and its IRR. It involves periodic monitoring through PhilGEPS, submission of reports from observers, as well as periodic feedbacks through e-mail.

 

Phase 3 will run until August 2010 and the Project will end with a final assessment of the participating cities’ compliance on December 2010.
